Health & Safety in Construction Environment Award – Level 1

Qualification Purpose
The Level 1 Award has been developed for delivery in a training environment and has been designed to develop learners skills and knowledge. It prepares learners to take further qualifications to develop their skills, Knowledge and understanding within their chosen craft and fulfill their CSCS training requirements for the new Labourer’s card.
Everyone now wanting the new Green Labourer card will require to achieve the Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in Construction Environment.
This includes both those who are new to the construction industry as well as those who are renewing their Construction Site Operative Card.
Entry Requirements
There are NO formal entry requirements to take the qualification.
Where learners have prior learning or experience, they may be eligible for exemptions from taking certain units within this qualification, this can be recorded as prior learning.
If you have any construction certificates, in house or otherwise bring them with you for your portfolio. Please bring with you your pass certificate for your CSCS test.
The BSC Level 1 Certificate in Health & Safety at Work aims to formalise health and safety induction training in the form of a nationally-recognised qualification.
The Certificate is based on the national occupational standards for health & safety and is accredited by the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) at Level 1 in the National Qualifications Framework.

This qualification is delivered through powerpoint presentation and with supporting Handouts. This will include a specimen examination paper.
This is a 7½ hour course with an extra 1 hour for the final assessment.
